Salvation is the gift of God through His son Jesus Christ. Jesus shed His blood, died and rose from the dead to pay the debt of sin (death/eternal separation from God) for all of mankind. (John 3:16-17) Pleasing God and getting to heaven is not a matter of "being good" or earning the way through good works. (Ephesians 2:8). It is a matter of faith (acting on a belief in accordance with God's Word). God's Word says, "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9-10)
16 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 - For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." John 3:16-17
9 - "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 - For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10
8 - "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" Ephesians 2:8
Dear God,
I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that "Jesus is Lord," and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me!
In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.
